Choose a network that supports your call volume

Your router needs enough capacity for concurrent calls, phone registrations, presence, BLF, and any quality-of-service rules. Device model, firmware, internet quality, and network design all affect results.

Installation checklist

  • Keep router and phone firmware current and use supported equipment.
  • Have your network administrator review SIP ALG and any SIP inspection or transformation features with Briva Voice support.
  • Check for double NAT between your internet modem and router.
  • Keep firewall protection enabled. Do not expose phones in a DMZ or open broad inbound port ranges as a shortcut.
  • Use the provisioning and registration settings supplied for your Briva Voice service.
  • Use tested QoS settings where needed and confirm that the connection can support your expected call volume.

Device configuration

Auto-provisioned phones receive the settings required for their service. Avoid adding STUN, ICE, custom port-forwarding, or other traversal settings unless your administrator and Briva Voice support have confirmed the configuration. For manually configured equipment, ask support to verify SIP keep-alive, media handling, and the applicable network destinations.
