How an incoming call reaches you

  1. A call to your Briva Voice number reaches the Briva Voice platform from the telephone network.
  2. The platform checks the service and routing configuration.
  3. The call is delivered to your hosted phone system or SIP trunk.
  4. Your configured route sends the call to a user, call queue, auto attendant, or another destination.
  5. When answered, call signaling establishes the audio session. Ending the call closes that session.

Reading a SIP call flow

A typical flow contains an INVITE, provisional responses such as 100 Trying and 180 Ringing, a 200 OK when answered, and an ACK. A BYE ends the session. Transfers and other changes can introduce additional messages.

When multiple phones ring, the system can cancel the unanswered branches after one phone answers. A canceled branch does not by itself mean that the completed call failed.

Reporting an inbound-call problem

Send Briva Voice support the caller's number, the number called, the time and time zone, the affected extension, and what happened. Report the example promptly so that our team can review available call records and diagnostic logs.

Authorized administrators can review Call History and the diagnostic views available to their role. Briva Voice support can investigate signaling, routing, and audio-quality details when further troubleshooting is needed.
